09SS The Safe Schools for All Bill prohibits discrimination and bullying for GLBT students and their families and includes protection based on, but not limited to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and other categories of the Minnesota Human Rights Act.  The bill passed the Senate 43 to 22.

 

09AD The amendment to the Safe Schools for All Bill would have inserted the following statement into the legislation:  "This provision does not promote or condone homosexuality."  The amendment failed 24 to 37.

The Senate voted 46 to 8 in favor of passing the Safe Schools for All Bill with minor changes from the House.
